Visits to Saran Renewable Energy and Husk Power Systems
showed that gasification has a problem.

Problem

• ⇒   Products of pyrolysis not removed.
• ⇒   Tars condense to PM10s (Particulate Matter - 10 mm)
• ⇒   PM10s follow gas stream round obstacles.

Solution

• ⇒   Inject biodiesel to evaporate
• ⇒   Gas stream cools, biodiesel condenses, droplets use nuclei (PM10s)
• ⇒   Biodiesel spray, larger drops coalesce with smaller
• ⇒   Form biodiesel sludge
• ⇒   Add biodiesel sludge to gasifier
